You have more control over Community notification -- both for you as well as
We've changed the settings for community notifications for better user experience (and less emails). Here's what's new.
How can you best inform residents about what's going on within your neighborhood?
It's important to let your clients about any discussions that are happening and involve the conversation more frequently -- but you also need to give them the ability to control their experience and prevent notification overload. And we heard from our design team how crucial it is to strike the right harmony.
This is the most recent update for the community feature, it allows you to and your friends gain more control over your messages. This means more lively discussions, less messages, and a social platform that will bring users and members closer and closer.
Set your own preferences for notifications as a creator
Creators and community members have the option of choosing which notification they'd like to receive for each topic that includes new posts, replies to your posts or new replies to comments.
Once you have logged into a community as a member then go to Settings and click "Edit" within the Notifications. (Creators will see this option on the Notifications tab within your Account settings.)

This will list all communities you're following. Simply check or uncheck the boxes that control the kinds of notifications you would want to receive from each subject.

In this case, for instance, you may prefer to be notified of changes, comments or replies in a space that's time-sensitive such as Live Events or Announcements. For other topics it is possible to be notified only when someone publishes a new post - or opt out of the announcements related to that topic completely.
It is also possible to easily turn off your notifications or on using these buttons "Mute All" or "Unmute the entire".
Additionally, you are able to alter your notifications per-topic quickly by visiting the "All topics"page or one page specific to each area. Hit the bell, and then make your own preferences regarding notification settings.

Look over this help doc for a step-by-step guide on changing your notifications settings, and also please feel free to share it with your fellow members too!
Set default notifications for a topic
Creators are also able to set standard notification settings for each topic in the community. This allows you to have more control over the member experience.
Instead of notifying members of your organization for each article in each topic You can select which topics your employees will be kept informed about and what kinds of notifications they will receive.
Here's how:
From the Community tab of your dashboard, click "All Topics". Select the "..." next to the topic you'd like to edit and then click "Edit Topic". Then, select your settings for notifications under "Default notification settings".

Members can alter their notification settings anytime to their personal account. If users haven't altered their settings, they will be defaulted to settings set by the creator of each topic.
