What was the procedure the way Laurel Parmet went from Staff Picks to feature films?
"I am aware that everybody tells me"Just do it. Film your story. But that's not the case," she adds. "Self-doubt is an enormous problem that is actually just a source of energy. It's very easy to waste a lot of time thinking "Ah you're right, I'm not able to complete this and I'll never succeed in completing it in a proper manner. It's possible that you're thinking that way, and that's why I may use it to make." We had the opportunity to chat with Laurel for a deeper understanding of her process and her development as a creator. Find out more about the interview.
What's the greatest suggestion you've ever received?
Laura The personal opinion is that the best recommendation I've ever received is to, if you're not certain, return to what's exciting and important for me as a writer. It's easy to get of getting caught up in the complexities of industry after which, once you're finished that's because I'm interested in telling stories, and that's my North Star.
Where can you go to find the inspiration you're looking for?
Lauren: Honestly I find inspiration in my work through looking at places. Writing is useful to actually be at the location, even in the setting of a film. My next project that I'm working on will be placed near the Oregon coast since I was on holiday and was captivated by the location and was thinking, "I need to write an action film about the area."
What was it like to step on the stage to shoot your debut feature?
Lauren The process was very long and difficult procedure in order to arrive at that point. The entire process involved in creating the story, getting the story to a certain degree, getting the money, and finding your team. This should take a longer amount of time because everything good takes a long time to create and great scripts take some time to write I would consider.
On the day I was on set for "The Starling Girl," I thought I'd be anxious and felt unsure of what I was doing However it turned out that the whole event was enjoyable and I felt so calm and realized it was what I was supposed to be doing. The experience was like riding a bike. It was quick to get back to work and was enthralled.
What is it that helps to keep you focused?
Laurel The first and foremost thing to remember is that it's about the job. I love being on the stage, and it's my most favorite location to be. That's why I keep an idea inside my head in the form of "Oh that's where I'll be." I think it helps me keep my motivation high. It's wonderful to collaborate and I enjoy the idea of creating things with my buddies. It's fun to be with them.
Can you describe your Staff Pick experience?
Laura, Staff Picks, this was pretty much every person's goal when I began making short films and joining festivals. You feel like you're getting recognized for your efforts and being accepted into the industry which so many filmmakers are involved in. a place that I admire.

Lauren The Laurel is the version I've used in a variety of ways. In the past, we used it for the production of "The Starling Girl," making edits and uploading them across the world. The most reliable streaming platform I've seen therefore it's what I prefer to utilize.
