Millie Adrian is on a mission to teach young social media influencers how to make money through Instagram.

Her passion for creating content started young; in 2008, she launched her own YouTube channel along with her brother. The channel lasted for nine years. "It was all about fun," she says. "We produced random skits, videos, mock-ups and tried out various methods of living our lives. ."

After she got a new corporate job during her 20s, she was frustrated with the creative video-making outlet it gave her. So they encouraged her to try Instagram blog writing on top of the regular 9-5. She positioned herself as a lifestyle blog and also published "anything and everything," sharing photos related to fashion, food, travel and wine, coffee, books and her dog.

Her account, @itsmodernmillie, immediately gained more followers and before long, she began receiving all sorts of queries from those that follow her. People wanted to find out about how she was growingand why she was able to capture specific pictures and also how she managed to get the degree of engagement. In order to provide her fans with the most precise answers possible she decided to start another channel on YouTube. In the end, teaching on Instagram was transformed into her main focus.

"My YouTube was growing as did my Instagram was growing and this resulted in this snowball effect of helping more people," she explains. "I was just going check which was the most successful before choosing to go with the one I had found to be profitable. They just clicked naturally ."

In the month of October she resigned from her position in a large corporation and started to work as an all-time creator of content. In the last year, she's built an following on Instagram that's at 117k. She also has the YouTube channel has 246K followers she's also launched online classes in 2021 that enrolled 600 students, and earned over $400,000 USD in revenue. "Next year I'd like to be earning seven figures," she says beaming.

Here are the 10 ways she made more than six figures during her initial 16 months of selling her courses:

Skip ahead:

  1.       She was able to trust her intuitions
  2.       She has launched three classes
  3.       She conducted market research in order to determine the best pricing
  4.       Her content was created as a response to what she believed her target audience desired
  5.       She is constantly working to enhance the learning experience for her students.
  6.       She was very kind with her information
  7.       The designer designed a basic sales funnel
  8.       The instructor offered gratis items with every one of the lessons.
  9.       She battled burnout
  10.       She stays constant

Her instinctual intuition was the one she was following.

As a part of her work, Adrian created content for Instagram and Youtube at weekends. This was an opportunity to rekindle her sense of imagination, and she started to crave more time for it.

She loved her job from 9 to 5 however she felt an uncomfortable "gut feeling" that she knew she had a purpose to live. "I couldn't sleep because my inner voice told me I had the potential to imagine even greater things," she shares. "I knew there was a way for me to become a part of something greater that the ."

The choice was taken to leave when she had regularly earning at or near the half-point of the money she was earning at her current corporate job by creating content. "Everyone has their own requirements for this change that are not negotiable," she says.

Once she reached her goal after which she quit her job and entered the world of self-employment on the 4th of October 2019, 2019. With the support of her followers and a lot of time, she decided to take the next step in her journey was an online courses.

     She also introduced three classes

In the present, Adrian has three courses including The Modern Influencer The course that has the most cost at $997 USD. Email List 101, which is the middle course costing $297 USD. As and The Reels Roadmap, which is the least expensive course, with a price of $197 USD. The courses she offers teach students how to become an online content creator However, The Modern Influencer is what she focuses on most.

In the beginning, the business called The Modern Influencer which was founded in July in 2021 started with a six-week coaching session for $597. After that, she was able to make the class a one-on-one, three-month coaching service. But Adrian quickly realized that she didn't have the ability to train hundreds of people one-on-one. Adrian made the decision to turn"The Modern Influencer into a recorded course instead.

While searching for the perfect web-based course hosting system her interest was piqued by  her experience with a range of online classes, and she was a student, and one of her favorite people.

"From the student's perspective it's the easiest method to learn as well as the most simple."

Apart from offering three classes In addition, she provides additional materials that are available for purchase during checkout in order to boost revenue, such as Pitch Email Templates Pitch Slide Deck Template , as along with the Kit Guide to Media Kit Guide, and 100plus caption concepts.

She conducted market research to determine the best pricing

When it came to pricing The Modern Influencer The Modern Influencer, she conducted research on the market; she wanted to know what other creators charged for similar course. Also, she was able to compare the course she was offering to those they had to offer. "I took a look at the subjects they were teaching and then my own subjects that I taught on," she says.

"I was unable to find a class that covered the use of Instagram and brand collaborations. My class combined the two," continues Adrian. "That's the reason I was able to decide on the right price ."

Her creation of content in response to what her target audience desired

Adrian created her classes that were not based solely on what she wanted to teach but also which programs weren't available.

She asked her audience to tell her what percentage of them took an online class through Instagram as well as what details they would have liked to learn but were not. Next, she created The Modern Influencer's curriculum by "brain-dumping" all the information she had into sticky-notepads. "The table was a complete mess of sticky notes," she smiles.

She arranged the sticky notes beginning with A to Z. They included everything necessary for somebody to transition from being completely ignorant about Instagram to the full-time creator of Instagram content. Each A to Z subject became modules, and others became classes. Though she states that the course is mostly focussed on Instagram but it's always evolving each year as she adds more and new classes. In addition, she could think of expanding the course to incorporate lessons from YouTube and TikTok, since that's what the people who attend her class are searching for.

Each of her classes is taught through a variety of media; she alternates between her video, talking slideshows, slideshows as well as screen recordings. "It will depend on the subject and how I believe the students will be able to absorb information the best," she says.

In addition, her videos are entirely recorded. There is no live portion except for an occasional Q&A that she hosts through her page on Facebook.

She continues to improve her students' experiences

The Group on Facebook is where The Modern Influencer students are included. Users have access for life to this group. It also offers a platform where members are able to inquire about how to create content.

In addition to the group on Facebook and the Facebook group, she's been playing about different strategies for keeping the attention of people who are interested in The Modern Influencer She's considering developing a Modern Influencer certificate to prove that participants have completed the course and have been certified as influencers. Additionally she'd like to add individuals who've earned certification with brand agreements with a PR checklist. "I would rather not be an agency but I'd like to give people the next step to take," she says.

Additionally, she wants to provide her students with the chance to become affiliates for the course, which means that Adrian will offer students an amount of price by referring other students. "Those are just two of ideas we're examining as we try to develop effective strategies for next this year,"" Adrian says.

She was generous with her expertise

Her primary audience includes future influencers or, more specifically individuals who write videos and content, but want to be the face of their online branding.

"I do not represent a company or anyone who isn't looking for a spotlight as a majority of the strategies I use involves creating emotions to your camera viewers" she declares.

As her students, making Adrian's audiences a reality demanded her to go beyond her comfortable zone yet, according to her, "you don't grow from areas of comfort."

She says that she built her following by spending time and money on herself as well as studying. "For long periods of time I would attend free webinars , and studying what other people were doing," she says. "I quickly noticed a difference following the purchase of online classes that could give me what I was searching for. ."

The most important thing she can offer to content creators in building their reputation is by sharing the things they would like to share. Her belief is that content creators should not be guardians of knowledge.

"Don't be shy about sharing your knowledge as well as share the knowledge you have.Once I said to myself, "Screw it!" I'm going to share everything I had learned without any intention to get paid I found my students."

The designer designed the basic funnel for sales

Instead of being scared by the elaborate sales funnels Adrian decided to keep it simple.

In the months leading up to when she launched The Modern Influencer She created waiting lists using a Google form. The URL was then shared on her site along with all of her social media sites. When she finally began the course, she was welcomed by a warm crowd of eager to get the confirmation email.

She recommends that course creators beware of funnels that are arouse people. Instead, she suggests to create a simple funnel such as waitlists in order to generate leads and make buyers to take advantage of their courses after it's was launched.

She offered the freebies for each course.

Now, Adrian's sales funnel is more comprehensive and she provides free tools that are similar to her software. "When users take the offer and download it or part of it, they're put in an automated email system where it'll upsell them eventually via email" Adrian explains.

For The Modern Influencer she offers a webinar of 60 minutes which teaches the 100-day Instagram strategy - i.e. how in order to gain 10,000 followers and make $1000 within 100 days. At the end of the free course, participants will be able to purchase the course.

In the Email List 101 course, it is available for free 10-page PDF that shows users how to create, grow and serve an email list. Additionally the course, The Reels Roadmap course, this course is available for free. can help users increase the amount of views they receive, attract attention and help the reels of their clients be seen by millions of people.

     She overcame burnout

Even though Adrian's enterprise is growing rapidly but it has come at the cost of her mental wellbeing.

Even though she could have the dream job However, she became trapped in the cycle of working for too long. "I did my best to be at work every moment of the working day." Her statement says.

In the aftermath of suffering due to burnout and panic attacks throughout the months following her first course's launch, she chose to employ an assistant manage her business. "If I don't create the content for my company then it will die," she explains.

Now, she has a managing digital company, a funnel strategist as well as an engagement and communities specialist as well as an assistant to video editors, a branding collaborations manager, an SEO person, and the Pinterest director. After bringing on a team, she's create more personal and professional boundaries regarding the time she spends on self-care. As a result? An increased ability to focus in creating content instead of being a nuisance. "I've been forced to discover a lot about myself to not hit these tipping points," she says.

     She's consistent

One of the key aspect that Adrian realized during her experience in creating content as and also her experiences with burnout -was that it's a marathon, not an event. Adrian recommends other creators follow this philosophy also, specifically to get rid of burnout and building businesses that last.

"You're taking on this challenge for the long run," she explains. "You don't need to know the results immediately or need immediate gratification."

In actual fact the advice she gives entrepreneurs is to concentrate on their business every day, in tiny fragments that are bite-sized. "It isn't necessary to be completed at one at the same time," she adds. "This is a long-term approach. If you're aiming to do, you can improve your performance by 1% each day. If you concentrate on it by focusing on one aspect at a over the course of three years, you'll experience greater success than the average person trying to accomplish it all at once ."

Her biggest accomplishment has been securing the YouTube Play Button which iswhich is an award given to one of of the most famous YouTube channels. "It has been the best and most comprehensive time of my life," she tells us and smiles. "I would love to return at some point to inform 12 year old Millie that the visions she had in her head might come true. ."

Another thing she'd like to do is she had the time to remind herself to believe that she can succeed. If you're aspiring to be an online creator, she advises them to focus on the benefits of steady, slow development. "Don't consider the amount of time required to finish your project," she advises.
