the wonder jam

Wonder Jam Wonder Jam is "a brand family that was created to aid entrepreneurs in growing their business by being smart soulful, vivacious and full of enthusiasm" as per the lyrics that were immortalized by Daft Punk, harder, faster, stronger and more strong. Wonderly is among them. Wonderly develops websites that incorporate visible branding and membership software to help customers "set their own apart". I spoke with managing partner Allie Lehman and developer Matt Hart to learn more about the company.

Fine art to freelance into freedom

"My roots are in fine arts. I was a child who participated in several drawing classes and oil painting" begins Allie Lehman. "At high school I was blessed with a wonderful art teacher  who, funny enough, informed me you could turn into an graphic designer or illustrator however, I didn't know how to distinguish between the two different things! I chose graphic design and then went to the college."

Allie graduated during the downturn in 2009's economy and worked as a Web Hosting Support. "It was a bit challenging, however I did discover a lot about hosting servers, how WordPress was installed, and all things related to websites," she remembers. "In 2013, I founded The Wonder Jam, now The Wonder Jam is the main company behind our business. I quit my job as a graphic designer and began the business full-time."

She was a part of Matt Hart for a couple years prior to this. Matt Hart would create websites and she would be the creator of these websites. After that, they started frequently working together: "We've been working together since the past 10 years, initially as freelancers. It was a natural collaboration. Now, the focus is on the companies that offer solutions and building WordPress websites," Allie adds.

Matt begins: "I do primarily WordPress development. This technique was taught to me at the start of 2010. There were many people who got the opportunity to join the WordPress world, and thought"we need to create CSS to ensure that the theme matches the right colors'. Soon, it was monotonous!" He laughed. As page builder tools like Beaver Builder and Elementor came in , they were able to have some flexibility: "We could do things using a customized approach that was geared towards specific needs of our customers, which impressed us in a unique manner."

Since the start of their relationship, Allie and Matt have focused on "going personalized in a way which is affordable" and , as Matt elaborates: "We do only what our clients would like and do not follow what clients do not want. It's something our clients want to understand They're not trying to look weird. They're looking to make themselves appear more comfortable. By using these tools, we can accomplish this."

Allie writes: "In 2013, I started The Wonder Jam with my husband. In the beginning, we started by working for myself as a freelancer on my own. We were fortunate to be able to hire Matt as Developer Contractor. We wanted to be a member of the team. We hoped to be able to create what we've always wanted to create in addition to having the possibility to make what we wanted." The Wonder Jam was born.

Systems, soils , and the foundations

"We are from Columbus, Ohio and it's an extremely welcoming and open-minded community for small-scale businesses," she continues. "Matt was on his way from Columbus to Seattle and we began collaborating with local clients in the area; we could walk along the main street and look at each business that we've worked with." In the year 2020, Wonder Jam had been around for 7 years. That is Wonder Jam and as the growth of the business in the US, they made the company their parent that now includes three brands, all of which are sister brands.

Wonderly concentrates on businesses who offer services such as writers, non-profit organizations in addition to fitness instructors, cooks as well as chefs. Wonderly has a different brand called Basis which focuses on retail stores as well as people selling products, in addition to the company called Studio Wonder, an events photographer's studio and location in Columbus.

Three brands offer the flexibility you need: "It allows our team to focus on the tasks they want to complete, as well as having distinct processes that they must follow," Allie says. "Because Matt and I started working as a team from the very beginning and have over 10 years of process behind us. I have pictures from the year 2017 , which shows how we whiteboard each step of the process to make sure that our clients feel really guided.

"The Wonder Jam operates as the "soil" which provides all the elements that a small-scale business requires to operate as a background. Each sister brand can "produce each in their unique method" and do whatever they like from the opportunities that present themselves. This lets all paths be clear, without a hiccup caused by issues that hinder the functioning of a small or two-person enterprise," Matt continues. "We are a collective of firms that work in tandem."

The Basis brand is focused on Shopify as well as e-commerce. In reality, the client wants to begin blogging and wants to offer something superior to what Shopify offers. That's why Wonderly can come in for help and assistance for the customer of Basis on the processes which are necessary for WordPress. "We are in a position to help and work with each other and are an integrated team, yet we can all specialize and be suitable for every person" he smiles.

"The Wonder Jam sits as an opportunity to build a foundation. Nobody is accountable to tell us what money to do with, or the amounts of income to make - that's completely dependent on the executive partners to choose," says Allie. They collaborate with tools like software, tools projects management systems, as well as a customer service. The managers are able to organize tasks. The members of the team then take over the responsibility of the project and handle any administrative tasks for the back-end of the project, such as contracts, billing and other.

"It can help people like Matt as well as me to concentrate on work." Allie smiles. "I think we've made the perfect working setting. It's all about ensuring that our clients feel extremely satisfied. If they contact us via email and feel that they're getting prompt responses and are supported throughout the entire process."

Matt tells us: "We say we don't create designs just for you. We create things as a team with you. We're not planning to go to the market over a period of time to develop something using their input. We meet regularly and let them see how the whole process is carried out from start to finish, instead of leaving our crafty spaces to build objects on our own!"

Contexts and Clients

Matt and Allie collaborate with many diverse organisations that require their websites to be accessible in a range of ways. "Some of our customers are non-profit organizations. They are usually extremely solid websites. They're typically too complex or have been around for a lengthy duration. The tendency is to combine the two or reduce them until sites are easy to use." Matt explains.

"We're engaged with individuals that want to join an online community of members like those who work in the field of food," Allie continues. Wonderly's clients tend to be people who do human-service-oriented work: "They're fighting for equality, they're looking to talk to their audience a little differently. It's typical for us to collaborate with individuals who've put a lot of their own effort in time, money and their business," she adds.

Wonder Jam Wonder Jam brands are able to work with every type of business, whether it's large-scale businesses to entrepreneurs that are relocating to full-time after working part-time. "We've developed a number of structures that will meet the needs of both. We're discovering the scales that work best and the aspects that you need to consider differently for situations where the scale drastically differs. This is a lot of fun for us to discover!" Matt smiles.

The writer adds "With non-profit organisations generally, they already have a base and have identified all the legal issues to work through. That's the way we generally accomplish this, because we're not looking to make the opportunity to start over." The group is going to revisit what they've gone through in order to find out what could motivate someone to give with a method that makes this process simpler.

The beginning stages of the collaboration, as well as with every customer regardless of the nature of business, and the dimensions of the site, the Wonder Jam team talks about what it takes to be able to deliver customer service. "A website can be a great tool for helping customers get to their destination in the site in the first place. However, it can be extremely efficient to keep customers returning, or being a resource. The question we usually are being asked to answer is "Is it a resource, or is it a way of winning over VIPs?' These are the people who are thought as the primary buyers for small-scale firms," Allie explains.

Matt and Allie Both agree that websites don't suit everyone and is essential to be able to plan strategically. "Whenever we're creating websites for members, the very most important thing to think about is getting people to come back regularly and believe that this is the best price they've ever had," Matt adds.

Case research: Simi and Molly

Allie says: "One of our clients, Simi Botic, has an exercise program and participates in Unmeasured and Unmeasured, which are all concentrated on movements of the body. The method is called"the Barre Method. Simi offers a calming approach to "Just get moving" and not seeking to punish your body. There's an array of options depending on the mobility that your body has."

When Simi began her journey on Wonderly when she first registered, she was able to post a handful of videos on the site , which were updated every week. "It makes things look more curated, and also helps her integrate things that are useful with her routine" Allie confirms. "After about two to three years, we widened the number of clients we served and gave her the opportunity to offer a better client service, that is truly inspiring. We're delighted that we're open to changing how we work when clients' goals shift; it's just an issue of revising the concept and making minor changes and then implement them in the development."

Another customer, Molly Baz, wanted to change her platform and switch to one which had a more distinct and compelling design. "Her branding's identity and visuals are versatile and distinct to her. The goal of her brand was to make followers to be able to live the experience by sharing her recipes, news changes, and the kinds of information they are familiar with, but at a level that felt authentic and distinctive to her brand." Allie explains.

We all know that Molly's fan base has been growing to become so vital for her. "To be able to organize it according to a design that fits with her design style and to alter the page to say that "Here's a picture of Molly and you can purchase her cookbook' to something more important within and beyond the membership. It's a great benefit" Allie muses.

"Something we've tried to do with our customers is to imagine the possibilities for them without the benefit of communication with them all day. We're making sure they've adequate systems in place for them to utilize the software which we've developed for them. Molly's case is an excellent example." Matt agrees.

Future projects and more information

Matt and Allie are working on businesses as well as websites that need "a significant amount of accessibility" disabled users. "We're co-operating with some amazing companies that strive to ensure their ideas and sites accepted by groups of people."

The majority of clients believe that they've had a great experience when it comes to their clients "It's an amazing experience to work with really great people. Clients we have worked with have a great sense of empathy and always are valued and respected," Allie concludes. "We are blessed to be working with truly fascinating people who have values that drive their work. It's a great feeling being in a position to design and create something that is for them." Matt smiles.
