Since as a young child I've always loved drawing, paint, and play with my hands. It has been the most natural way to express myself. But growing as a child in Taiwan, pursuing an artistic career was thought of as a negative thing as a way to make money, and I was frequently instructed by my parents to learn deeper into practical topics in order to avoid ending being hungry on the streets.

It is a blessing that my mom has always encouraged me to pursue anything that I wanted to do and was willing to do everything in her power to help me achieve my objectives. Following my return in the United States and graduating high school, I decided that I would like to pursue art as a career.

I was admitted to ArtCenter College of design, studying Illustration with the intention of going into the feature animation field. However, along the way I discovered motion graphics and fell in love with its versatility , as well as the amazing work that is created by people I greatly admiration.

How would you describe the style you prefer?

I am still on the path to finding the fashion that I'm able to claim as my personal. I have the tendency to experiment with new things every so often... For instance, one month I'll want to do something very vibrant, and then I'll want to experiment with the more natural-looking colors. I'll get really into a car style for a few months and then, in the next day, I'll be tired of it and will want to explore a style that's inspired by lines.

Or sometimes I'll try to merge opposite things that are intriguing to me, to make it seem like I'm in an endless quest to discover and discover. But after dabbling a little bit here and there, I'm noticing the specific shapes, colors, compositions that I am drawn to. Perhaps this is the start of a style?

This is part of the reasons I enjoy working at Oddfellows Sometimes I cannot believe that I'm fortunate to work with an amazing group of people. In the workplace, we are often required the ability to change our style from project to project, virtually every project has to be completed with different ways as well as I'm learning new things from my coworkers every day.

What are the most important things to consider when creating your illustration?

I like to make sketches of topics that I am intrigued or curious in. I then attempt to make my own interpretation of it.

But most importantly I like having enjoyable. Fun is essential to creating something and viewers will be able to tell if a creator had enjoyment doing some thing... it adds sparkle.
