"Passive" means "passed." Creating Online Courses requires Active Participation
For most service-based businesses that generate income through leveraged and passive products sound like a great idea, but there's a myriad of psychological and mental issues that can arise when stepping into this realm. There's a misconception that passive income is the best source of income. Sure, you get to earn money while you sleep and you get to go for a stroll on the beach. It's true, you don't need to offer it for sale to me.
But what if you ACTUALLY consider the clients who are purchasing your program? What if heaven forbid, you don't want to head on a trip to the beach however, you'd rather to remain in the area, hold some hands, answer some concerns, and really support your clients through the program?
Does that make you a bad professional?
Do you think that this means that you're onlyleveraging but making no passive income, and therefore you've FAILED?
Not at ALL.
I'm here to tell you: Leveraged is the new black.
Additionally that, passive income has been a major source of income in 2014.
Successful online course creators keep in touch with their students
Beautiful, heart-centered entrepreneurs are putting together BRILLIANT leveraged programs and keeping in touch with their tribe which is loving the way they do it.
In a time where prospective clients have ALREADY registered for dozens of online programs, never to complete them, another self-study program will be merely an empty sound.
We live in a time where we have a pity on being pushed through automated funnels, lead generators and basically forced to jump through hoops to determine how much money you want and the best way to get this to you, online buyers are pushing away. Refusing. Delaying the decision until they have the opportunity to collaborate on a one-on-one basis or participate in an intensive group that requires lots of face time.
for creators of connected courses This can be GREAT news.
Personally, I don't consider it in my genes to create truly passive income. The first real passive income product was a year-long planner designed for entrepreneurs and was just $19.98. When I first launched it, I sold 170 copies, which was amazing. Then, I began emailing and messaging the people who had bought it to ensure they were filling it in for the first time, and find out how they liked it and if they had any suggestions, to provide tips on how to keep it going throughout the year.
It is not a passive income product. It was a fact that I spent over 10 hours CHASING the people who bought it to discover their thoughts and to help them use it!
Fast forward one year and I launched my Heart and Soul planner again at the end of the year of 2015. It was this time with two group sessions that were live one in which I led people through the pages by page, answering questions and giving ideas, and the second workshop in which I assisted people to develop their own implementation strategy to make sure the planner did not turn into a dust-catcher.
By turning my passive product into leveraged product, I discovered several benefits for both buyer and seller alike:
- I was more connected to those who bought and I could make sure that people got excellent value. This was wonderful to me, and also good for them.
- I came up with a TRIBE. we were all on the live call together, and members were communicating with each other, cheering each other on and providing suggestions and ideas. The focus was not on divide and conquer - instead, the goal was to unify and make connections.
- People were able to KNOW me, and consequently, my KLT (know, like, trust) factor skyrocketed.
- The CONVERSION into higher quality products was amazing - out from the women that bought at this point, three of them are now VIP clients fourteen of them have enrolled in one of my courses, and at the very least 20 have joined my business school only in six short weeks. The conversion will continue to happen throughout the year, I am certain.
When you're contemplating and planning the next course, program or product, give a consideration of designing something that's more connected, and less passive. You might need be more consistent in your be more consistent in your efforts.
But you never know that you may find that you like it.
