Overcome perfection paralysis: Tips from content creators

Oct 14, 2022

You've probably met one who was unable to finish a task because they felt all aspects had to be perfect. But, perfection doesn't exist (truly). As a result, the project sits incomplete either on the laptop or in the studio. Some might consider it an unnecessary waste of time as there's no way to enjoy what the creator has created.

Perfectionists can pose a significant obstacle for entrepreneurs and creators. According to a study carried out in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, perfectionism can be linked with "feelings of guilt, failure or indecisiveness, guilt procrastination guilt, shame and low self-esteem." This is why people struggle to move forward in their work or project and is referred to as perfection paralysis. What can you do to overcome this?

The process of letting go of perfection and revising the work to a more real-world standard for when something can be released to the public is a challenge. For help with this We invited two knowledgeable creators to speak on their journey to overcome perfectionism in a live summit which was held in the month of August in 2022. The session can be viewed at:

How come people are so fixated on excellence?

What strategies do you have to get over perfectionist paralysis?

Digital goods don't have to be flawless, but, they still need to reach a certain level of quality before they can be sold. Does a designer have the ability to establish the highest standard, which is best for their business and brand?

Grace says:

"Consider the impact of your brand's logo on the quality of the content and the information you're going to be putting out? Does it convey a convincing tale of what you have to provide? It's also important to make sure that you're making an edit to your copy or you've got the best audio and video. Anything that can aid in making the user experience as high-end as it can be.

In my opinion, more than anything else it's best to just go for it. It doesn't require some kind of top-of-the-line production team in order to produce the best video. It's possible to shoot an amazing video with your iPhone. Be sure to ensure that you don't have a background, and the audio quality is good.

What's the first thing that any skilled creator could do to create the initial digital item?

   Steve says:

"I discover that lots of entrepreneurs get caught up with their own message, but they're not thinking about the market. It is important to ask yourself: Do I have a target market that is willing to take my message? How do you know if there's any market to your message?

It's quite simple: You can ask specific questions like:

  1. What's the issue that my enthusiasm or words will be able to address?
  2. Who has the issue and needs this remedy?
  3. Who are the people that you are obligated to serve?
  4. How do you discover these?
  5. Where will they look for you?
  6. What is the amount they willing to spend?
  7. Why should someone go to you rather than every option available?

can help you get your message out to the entire the globe (finally!)
