Motion graphics . The CreativeMindClass Blog
What is your background?
"My name is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I'm an illustrator, animator and GIF artist based in Brooklyn, New York. As part of my job as an artist, I create animations, motion graphics and storyboards for explainers, videos, and mobile apps. However, what I truly enjoy doing on the side is to make funny and fun animations and stickers that make people smile and help them be themselves."

"I grew up in Taiwan and began attending high school for fine art when I was little. I was always drawn to drawing but I began to be stymied by a very traditional education method. I was feeling like I could not express my identity and voice using conventional tools in art. Learning about fine art definitely helped me to build the basis for who I am now."

"I switched to design in college before moving to New York for grad school. This was when I started experimenting with digital animations as well as animation. Animation provided me with the ability to blend illustrations and motion in order to tell a story in a dynamic way. I really enjoyed exploring how to bring still images to life."

How would you describe your style of animation?

What's the secret for creating animated images?
"I enjoy working with a a sense of humor plus powerful emotions that make people feel at ease, while exploring different media and creating a unique design style. Designing can be really fun!"

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I like how individuals generate ideas in the team, and also believe that the best work is usually made by a collection comprised of individuals with diverse strengths and skills.
The day-to-day life of I wouldn't stop creating items that inspire me. When not designing or making motion graphics, I could be found making a chaos in my kitchen (lots cook!) and creating crafts. I love to travel to Brooklyn market and try my hand on various food items at my home. The world is filled with wonderful things. I love to travel and explore diverse communities, cultures and art that is innovative."
