     We've updated community notification settings for a better user experience (and lesser email messages). Here's what's new.

What's the best way to keep members informed of the latest happenings within your neighborhood?

It's crucial to let your users know about interesting conversations , and encourage them to participate in discussions more often However, you should give them the option to regulate their experience , and to avoid notifications overload. We have discussed with our designers, we have discussed how crucial is it to achieve an appropriate balance.

In the most recent release of our community function, you and your members have more control over the messages. That means you will have more lively conversations, less flooded inboxesand a social platform that can bring both of you and close.

Control your personal notification settings whether you are a member or creator

Community members as well as authors can now choose which announcements they'd like to receive about the same subject: posts that are fresh or replies to your comments, or responses to comments that are new.

Once you have logged into an online community as a participant Log into Settings Then click "Edit" under Notifications. (Creators can find this on the Notifications tab of your Account's settings.)

You'll see all of the subjects that you're following in the community. Simply check or uncheck the boxes and select the kinds of messages you'd like to receive for each subject.

In this case, for example, you might prefer being notified about updates, comments or replies in a space which is time-sensitive, such as Live Events and Announcements. Other areas are possible to get only announcements every time someone publishes an announcement, or you can opt out of notification regarding the issue completely.

It is also possible to turn your notifications off and on via pressing "Mute All" or "Unmute All".

Furthermore, you can to change your per-topic notification settings conveniently by accessing your "All topics"page or the particular topic's page. Hit the bell, after which you can change your notification preferences.

Set default notifications for a topic

Creators are also able to set the default settings for notifications to be applied to every part of your community. This will give you more control over your members' experience.

Instead of sending out notification emails to members of your blog for every blog post It is possible to choose the topics your members get informed about, and what kind of notification they will receive.

Here's how:

In the section for Community on your dashboard, go to "All Subjects". Then, click "..." on the topic that you want to edit , and then click "Edit Topic". You can then pick the settings that will be used that will be your notification settings under "Default notifications settings".

Users can alter these setting at any point in their accounts. If users haven't altered their settings, they'll return to their default settings set by the author for every topic.
