Hamburg-based tattoo artist and illustrator Ines Hassler, who is also known under the alias Frau Ines lives by her talent for creativity, courage and her personal neighborhood artist group.

"Creative exchange, connections as well as the sense of community of the scene are significant to me and have had a significant impact on my work" says Ines. The scene located in Hamburg is a creative hub that is managed by Ines as well as her own local artist's association: Hey Du Hey Du which serves as their gallery as well as a tattoo studio. Also, Live Art Club and Live Art Club, which offers "cheerful and refreshing" class in drawing. "I wouldn't be the person I am now if weren't open to all services that the city and people have to provide me during the past several weeks," Ines says.

A thriving artist from an early age Ines studied a variety of art-related fields throughout her school years before settling at what she believed was the most suitable to her: designing. "But after just a few years of working in agency work," she says, "I realized that my heart was much more devoted to the work I did in my spare time outside of my work hours , and not so much for big clients and brands. After a while, I took the decision to start my own business working full-time as an artist."

Creativity can be a motivator

"The diversification of my day-to-day routine is what keeps me energized and productive," she says. "The most beneficial thing I can accomplish is performing the same task every day. I love switching between projects, working with different teams, and achieving common goals. Thus, my job seems like a pastime."

"But obviously it's often difficult," she says, "especially during times of outbreaks, or when deadlines for different parties are brought together. It can cause stress and, often, too much. This is where I am to determine the ideal equilibrium."

"In all, that sensation of self-realization will always manage to win," Ines adds. "Sometimes it's still a bit crazy I'm able to call what I do as a job. However, for me it's not only a job, it's passion."
