The family is a creative one for artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, who is also an artist, has been a major influence in his work, even when she was not entirely happy of his professional choices. "First she disagreed with me becoming a full-time artist. I believe she understood how hard it is, because of her own experience. It was a challenge, but I did give the idea a shot and, thankfully did not fail," Kentaro says. "She is certainly the greatest motivation in my life."

Kentaro was born in the village of a fishing family in Toyama, Japan, but relocated to Australia aged 18 where he now lives in Sydney. Since that move and subsequent success, Kentaro has built a professional freelance business as an artist. His offerings include paintings, prints and custom surfboards and murals, and collaborating with major brands and musicians.
