Ever since she was a little kid, New Zealand-based maximalist artist and interior design consultant Evie Kemp was a lover of designs and art. "I was always drawing, redesigning my dollhouse, or watching room makeovers on TV." Later, in her teenage years, Evie says, "I was very frightened of being  different and I was willing to do anything to stay out of the spotlight."

That urge to fit in made her go to law school. However, during her time in law school, "my mental health became bad," Evie says, "and I was forced to take six months off. As I recovered I focused my attention on figuring on what I truly like, and then decided to apply to study graphic design rather than." The return to her first love of art has had a profound impact on her. "It was in that way that I started to really find my voice and embrace the many quirks I'd held aside for so long."

Since making that decision to focus on developing her skills in a career she's passionate about. Evie's confidence and artistic voice have helped her to build her own business. "I find increasingly that I'm more bold and colorful and creative than ever," she says. "It's similar to the old "Which one came first, the chicken or the egg issue It's hard to tell if I get more secure and at ease with myself as my work exudes enthusiasm or the other way around. It's not like my style is 'developed' though--it's definitely in the process of developing."

Evie's fashion sense shines through her bold aesthetic that's filled by vibrant colors and interesting patterns. Find out more about Evie's advice to build an online presence which reflects your personality creating an engaging content strategy, and using the power of multiple streams of income easily.

Create a distinctive "you" web site

How and where to present up online is pivotal for the success for any business or creative. According to Evie puts it: "For me, my website and social media are my "face. When I'm in a digital age, it's my website that is my identity and must attract and convince people about my skills."

Creating a branded website that uniquely represents you and what you offer isn't just important because a distinct brand will help to distinguish yourself from competition. It's equally important to correctly portray your brand's style and draw the kind of customers, customers or audiences that are the most comfortable to you.

Create a site that is as efficient as it is eye-catching

Another must-have for Evie is an announcement bar that greets visitors on the first page of her site. "My website features a lot of information, therefore it's really good to instantly draw attention to certain things!"

She appreciates that these features are only going to "take just a few minutes to add, but I want to keep my site current and functioning as best as it possibly can."
