Black In Corporate
Social media expert and ambassador Candace Marie is the founder of Black In Corporate The Black In Corporate organization that advocates for Black employees in corporate settings. The concept of Black In Corporate came out of her personal experience in workplaces in which minorities are discriminated against as one of the primary causes of making it difficult for Black employees to succeed. "While Black In Corporate was created from personal experience," Candace says, "a key reason for starting the non-profit was the realization that there were lots of Black residents of my community with experiences that were similar to mine, even though their experiences weren't exactly the same as my own."
One of the many principles of the foundation Black In Corporate is based upon is the Virtual Mentorship Program, which offers Black professionals access to resources, opportunities, and collaboration. The Black In Corporate website has been instrumental in helping to spread awareness about the program's existence those who are in the target audience. "While social media and press are major factors of users, the attractive design and the ease of access to the website can ensure that users stay connected and return," Candace says about the effectiveness of the site.
The saying "it requires the entire village" particularly rings real in the case of Candace and her experience with the birth of Black In Corporate. The business has grown enormously through the assistance of her mentors, sponsors and also friends and family members acquaintances who helped her along her journey. Elton Anderson Jr.
For 14 years, Elton Anderson Jr. worked in the photography field as a photographer. He took pictures of famous people and most famous brands. It was the decision to switch to a different direction as he realized that his career path that has always brought him joy was no longer fulfilling. Following a severe illness of malaria that occurred during the trip to Brazil, Elton vowed to commit his whole life in making himself better as well as help others.
Presently, Elton is doing just this with his work each day. While pursuing new roles like producer, creator and host of travel shows, Elton also launched Creators of Color which is an online platform which tells stories of Black creators from a range of industries.
