In January of 2020, Nia Pettitt officially opened the Curl Bar, the salon for curly hair situated in London. The salon's concept by Nia wasn't just focused on making clients feel gorgeous, but providing an environment that made each customer feel loved and cherished.

Create a brick-and-mortar company to the next level

The idea of opening a salon for curly hair was always a goal for Nia's. "I frequently journeyed across America for my hair's services since it was difficult to find a salon in London and even located in Britain," she says. UK," she says. "I wanted to create an experience that made me feel and calm and reflected visually the kind of experience I'd hoped for as a child." The customers responded positively to my idea: when they walked through the door of The Curl Bar, appointments rapidly filled up.

"Your lifestyle will alter as you start to set up an company. Make sure you're ready for this change." Nia offers advice to business owners who want to start their own businesses. It's difficult to say the magnitude of change that would be coming to Nia and the Curl Bar: Only three months following its launch, the restaurant had to shut down temporarily because of COVID-19 closures throughout the UK. A definite cease-page in operation didn't stop Nia from expanding.

"I didn't have a formula to expand the business, and certainly not during an incident," she says. "I simply view every moment as a lesson to be taken away from." As The Curl Bar was closed, Nia shifted her focus on social media, and stayed in touch with her stylists and clients via social media until The Salon could reopen fully.
