Social interaction has been an important part in Karl's development in photography. The sharing of ideas and ideas among other Black photographers allows him to experience the camaraderie that is a part of an industry that can feel isolated at times. Karl is determined to help others throughout his professional career, so he can create the same kind of community for most innovative creatives working in the field. "Paying the forward means that I'm available," Karl says. Through sharing his expertise and experience, Karl hopes to help fellow creatives to become the best that they could be.

If asked to suggest to his young self as a person just starting the photography journey, Karl's advice is: "Don't get so intense that you cease to enjoy making. Simply taking a breath and taking part in taking part in the process might be your best option to do as a photographer."

Elton Anderson Jr.

Over the course of the past 14 years Elton Anderson Jr. worked as a photographer as a photographer, shooting famous people and of the top brands in the world of popular culture. But, he made the decision to change direction when he noticed that what he'd had a passion for wasn't nearly so fulfilling. Following a potentially life-threatening bout of malaria during a trip in Brazil, Elton vowed to devote his entire life towards improving his own life and the lives of others.

Presently, Elton is doing just this with his work that he does every single day. Alongside seeking out new positions including producer or creative director as well as host of travel shows, Elton also launched Creators of Color, a platform that is focused on telling the stories of Black creators in diverse fields.

For Elton making changes is a crucial element of creative thinking. Elton's suggestion for young Black creatives who wish to make a change in their professions is to go with their instincts. "If there's no way to affirm, it's not a yes," Elton says. "This mantra has helped me make my career switch much efficient and accurate to what I've experienced."

If you're a creative like Elton who has a variety of things to do, digital marketing plays an important role in sharing the story about his journey. The aim of Elton is to be the "Master Storyteller." Both of his websites together with his social media profiles allow him to accomplish exactly this. "I consider my site to serve as a platform where users can come in, take a seat, and get familiar with me" Elton says. "My social media channels allow you to travel with me in real-time."
