Is optimizing conversion rates in SaaS software different from conventional A/B testing in the world of commerce?

Does it just aim at getting customers to click"buy", or"buy" or "buy" button (like the website for E-commerce)? Does it have more to it?

I spoke to growth expert (and the director of Growth at Planday) Frederic Linfjard (and I wanted to know what his opinion regarding these matters.
