When I have time I like to do 30-minute-hour research or other explorations in which I just do whatever I think I'm feeling that day. It really helped me improve but it also made me realize what sort of things I enjoyed.

Today, I am able to focus on the color of light and how to explain textures in a simple way so that I do not have to go overboard with all of it. I usually maintain my designs pretty close to real life however, in the future I want to try to push shapes more and also be more stylized in my work.
Before I begin painting, generally speaking, I love laying out my main shapes initially, either using BW or straight in colors. If I think it's essential, I start with linework initially. After I've established a good basis, I will map in the light shapes and shadow shapes onto separate layers. Then, I start to draw or paint it, usually going from big to tiny details.

To create the Streets of London painting I utilized a similar technique. To create clear edges and to keep the painting well-organized, I employed a large number of layers and also had the main light on another layer.
Layers also help me less worried about making mistakes, but once I'm happy in the state of the painting I start merging a few things, only keeping the things I consider necessary.

Colors to me are an "feel" thing, I go with the one that feels good. There are a variety of references which I use to assist me in choosing the correct colours. Sometimes I mix references and sometimes I just use the same.
It's definitely a good idea to learn about the theory of light and colour, so you know what you can do to make your general colour scheme and value better.

I think it's difficult for me to define what the most important thing I do to create my art... I simply like exploring diverse styles, techniques, as well as subject matter and be inspired by other artists.
I'm still so early in my artistic journey that I continue to try to determine what I'm like as an artist, and what my style is. The main difference nowadays is that I don't really worry about it as much as I did in the past and I'm sure that's making an enormous difference.
My Personal Background
I'm Bjork as I'm Visual artist. I'm currently employed as a Concept Artist in games.

I'm from a small country that is known as The Faroe Islands and have always been creative in some way whether it was by drawing, storytelling or something else. I received a bachelor's degree in CG arts from The Animation workshop in Viborg, Denmark, in 2019 I started my first full-time job in London later that year.
Nowadays, I'm mainly employed as a concept artist for Envar Studios but also do occasional gigs as a freelancer.
It's true that I'm generally more active with Twitter rather than Instagram. If anyone would like to buy prints I'm selling them on Inprnt.
