When I have time I love to complete 30-minute-hour study or explorations, where I can do whatever think I'm feeling during the day. This was a huge help in my development, however it also made me realize what sort of things I was interested in.

Nowadays, I like to focus on the color of light and also how to describe the textures with a clear way so I don't have to get too specific on all of it. I tend to draw my forms as close as possible to what I see in real life however, in the future I'm looking to push shapes more and become more artistic with my work.
When I start a painting, typically, I prefer to sketch out the basic shapes first either in BW, or simply straight using colors. If I think it's essential first, I begin with linework first. Once I have a good basis, I will map into the light shapes as well as shadow shapes onto separate layers. Then, I create or render the image, usually going from big to small specifics.

For Streets of London painting I employed a similar method. To create clear edges and to keep the painting well-organized, I employed a large number of layers and also had the main light layer on an additional layer.
Using layers also makes me worry less about making mistakes. But once I feel comfortable with where I'm at with the work, I'll begin to merge some aspects, while keeping only those things that I believe are essential.

Colours for me are very much a "feel" aspect, and I simply go with the one that feels good. Also, I have a number of reference sources that I look at for help in choosing the perfect colours. Sometimes I mix references and sometimes I just use just one.
It's definitely a good idea to be aware of the theory of light and colour, so that you are aware of what can push to make the global color palette and the values better.

I think it's difficult for me to define what the secret to creating my art is... I simply like exploring different styles, mediums and subjects and am inspired by other artists.
I'm still so early in my journey as an artist and continue to try to figure out who I am as an artist, and what kind of style I have. The main difference these days is I don't have to think about it as much as I used to and I think that's making an enormous difference.
My Personal Background
Hello, my name's Bjork and I'm a Visual artist. I'm currently employed as a Concept artist for games.

I'm from a small island that is known as The Faroe Islands and have always been creative in some form either by drawing, storytelling or something else. I received a bachelor's degree in CG arts at The Animation workshop in Viborg, Denmark, in 2019 and began my first position in London at the end of that year.
Presently, I'm working as a concept artist at Envar Studios but also do occasional freelance gigs.
It's true that I'm generally more present in Twitter than on Instagram. For those who want to purchase prints, I offer them on Inprnt.
