Colored Pencil Flower - The CreativeMindClass Blog
If I were forced to pick a term that represented my style of drawing I would choose 'Spring'.
I want people to see my drawings and feel they are blooming themselves, as if a spring warm with blooming flowers.
Cottagecore is the life style I prefer and cherish. The reason might be that I reside in Seoul, a big city and I love nature and the countryside more than what my eyes take in every day.
In lieu of spreading intensity instead, I prefer to express a peaceful and tranquil mood, as I do in nature.
What's the most important thing in creating your illustration?
In the beginning, I'd like to share the things that I find inspiring in. My focus is on the joy in small objects. The blooms I find in a flower garden and the gentle whispers of flowers that flutter when wind blows and even a little flower at the corner of a street I see while walking.
My work is mostly inspired by tiny wildflowers. Natural landscapes from old botanical encyclopedias and rural landscapes are also part of my inspiration. I save a lot of material through photos and frequently take notes on color pencil ideas.
Then, let's look at the technique of work. I create drawings to the level of elaborate details in the manner of actual flowers. I also communicate my thoughts through colors.
I employ pointed colored pencils to precisely draw the design that the flowers take. It is then set with a gentle and warm atmosphere by using pastel tones rather than intense hues.
It is also my preference to put the plain and texture of paper by using the technique of paper flowers to create an impression of blooming flowers.
Rather than simply drawing I feel that making flower designs on paper creates a more beautiful atmosphere. It's a more precise translation of what I have in my head.
