What can you tell us about what you do for ?
In our Community Team, we are responsible for The Hero Community and other community focused programs as well as tools. Our team's vision is to help connect people around the globe and help our Heroes to be successful entrepreneurs through community programs and resources.
What's an accomplishment in your career you're particularly proud of?
How has your cultural personal identity affected your experience in technology?
It's something I'm trying to better understand my own self.
Do you observe Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month If so, what does it mean to you?
No, not specifically AAPI Heritage Month, but when I was growing up, I attended and was a part of Korean celebrations of culture and heritage which would include festivals and various other events. I think like many others I've learned the importance of these cultural moments and events help us understand our identity and belonging.
Could you share an event or person in AAPI history that is meaningful to you?
The most meaningful would have been my parents and all of the other numerous families of immigrants who retreated themselves to find better opportunities elsewhere. It's a bit mind-blowing to think about the kinds of issues that the previous generations in the AAPI group. In addition, I would like to declare that I'll not forget the experience Linsanity was...so thank you for Jeremy Lin!
How do you get involved within the AAPI community?
I usually seek out community within the areas that I'm spending the most time. Therefore, in my college years I took part heavily in KSA (the Korean Students Association) as well as at other workplaces I've participated in different AAPI specifically-focused ERGs.
What are the things you enjoy doing at work ?
My most favorite thing about working at is definitely my team of people which I get to work with. I really appreciate the friendly and supportive atmosphere that's been created, and the love that's shown in our products and customers is really inspiring to be a part of.
Is there anything else you'd like to talk about the topic with the readers of our blog?
This is a shameless way to invite our customers to join to the Hero Community! We're going to continue to build the most engaged and enriching social experience that we can and would like to meet our customers there!
